(April 22, 2024) – Advita, a developer and producer of innovative implants, instrumentation and smart technologies for joint replacement surgery, announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued U.S. Patent #11,944,365 and #11,950,820, fortifying the company’s intellectual property and protection around its novel Newton^® soft tissue balancing technology for total knee replacement surgery. 

The two newly granted patents build on a previously awarded patent by broadening the scope of position and orientation of the mechanical actuators in the company’s Newton soft tissue balancing device. Additionally, these patents encompass a broader range of function including singular distraction elements that can maintain constant force through a wide range of motion, enabling increased capability and protection for future evolution of Advita’s Newton portfolio.
